In this clinical lecture, we will examin the value of local bracket variations in relation to intra-arch anchorage control, overcoming limitations of fixed appliance designs and in simplifying the management of complex presentations. A range of clinical tips concerning anterior-posterior anchorage control and the use of local variations in improving the efficiency of local torque correction will be presented.
Learning Objectives:
After this session, attendees will be able to:
Define the rationale for local variations.
Evaluate anchorage demands with reference to both dental arches, in isolation and apply this to the selection and orientation of fixed appliance attachments.
Demonstrate a range of applications of local bracket variations in order to manage anchorage, overcome appliance limitations and to address challenging presentations.
