Dr. Marilia Yatabe serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Clinic Director of the Craniofacial Orthodontic Clinic at the University of Michigan since 2018. She has a DDS degree (2007) from the School of Dentistry, Araçatuba, São Paulo State University/Brazil, Orthodontic Certificate (2010) and Post-Doc position (2017) at the Hospital for Rehabilitation of Craniofacial Anomalies, and a Masters (2012) and PhD (2016) Degree from Bauru Dental School, both from the University of São Paulo/Brazil; and a Orthodontic Craniofacial Fellowship Certificate from the University of Michigan (2018).
Dr. Yatabe is active in many leadership roles within the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, within the School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, and at a national level, serving on the AAO Council on Scientific Affairs, GLAO Representative, and Site Visitor for Advanced Dental Education Programs, Orthodontic Fellowship for CODA. She is also an active orthodontist for the Craniofacial Team at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital - University of Michigan. As a dental educator and orthodontist, she has published over seventy peer-reviewed papers, contributed to orthodontic book chapters, and serves as a reviewer to several orthodontic and dental journals internationally.
