Dr. Fayrouz Bazina is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. She received her DDS from, Benghazi University (Libya). She received her PhD in Oral Biology and Pathology from Stony Brook University, School of Dental Medicine (New York). She obtained her Master's degree in Dental Sciences with a Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry (Kentucky).
Dr. Bazina's research interests include understanding the stem cell phenotype during odontogenesis and identifying appropriate stem cell sources for tissue engineering approaches such as enamel. In addition to studying the relationship between BMI and dental development among different ethnic groups.
