Influence of Visual Aids, Plaque Disclosing Tablets and Verbal Guidance on Oral Hygiene and Compliance of Patients Undergoing Orthodontic Treatment - An Open Label Randomized Controlled Trial
This randomized controlled trial aims to assess the effectiveness of visual aids, plaque disclosing tablets (PDT), and verbal guidance in improving oral hygiene and patient compliance during orthodontic treatment. Conducted over a three-month period, the study objectively measures the impact of these interventions, revealing noteworthy gender-related differences in compliance. Surprisingly, age and educational background don't significantly affect the enhancement of oral hygiene and patient compliance. The findings underscore the need for innovative strategies in orthodontic care, with potential implications for shaping patient-centric approaches and emphasizing the enduring commitment to oral health throughout orthodontic treatment.
