Class III adult cases are very challenging to treat non-surgically. Those that have short or normal face heights; however, can be treated successfully with techniques to increase vertical dimension and induce clockwise mandibular rotation. Posterior extrusion, which is not a reliable movement with clear aligners, can be achieved with the combination of fixed appliances for posterior extrusion and clear aligners for bite plane. Significant improvement in facial esthetics and occlusion will be demonstrated in sample cases.
Learning Objectives:
After this session, attendees will be able to:
Outline various non-surgical treatment options for Class III adult cases.
Recognize Class III facial and dental characteristics that are suitable for non-surgical treatment with clockwise mandibular rotation technique.
Implement techniques to increase vertical dimension and induce clockwise mandibular rotation in both fixed appliances and clear aligners.
