This session will focus on clinical patient management with MARPE/RPE and evidence generated through our prospective and retrospective studies on maxillary expansion. Specifically, it will focus on alveolar bone and soft tissue changes associated with rapid palatal expansion with and without mini-implants.
Learning Objectives:
After this session, attendees will be able to:
Evaluate how MARPE and RPE effects the short- and long-term soft tissue changes.
Realize how slow and rapid palatal expansion effects the alveolar bone loss.
Evaluate whether rapid palatal expansion causes long-term bone loss and whether it could be prevented or minimized using MARPE.
