The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for remote monitoring of patients in clear aligner therapy has grown in popularity recently. Many patients seeking orthodontic treatment today prefer clear aligners over traditional fixed appliances. However, patients’ aligner change frequency and wear time are primarily determined by the clinician’s judgment and preference. This presentation aims to present the results of a clinical trial in which we utilized an artificial intelligence driven application for remote monitoring (Dental Monitoring) to see how using this technology is affecting aligner change frequency compared to the clinician's standardized aligner change frequency. We will explore how utilizing the AI driven dental monitoring applications can help clinicians to be able to provide a more personalized aligners change frequency schedule for patients which ultimately help to make treatments more efficient and also we will look at some limitations and shortcomings.
Utilize this technology in treating patients with clear aligners and help to increase treatment efficiency.
Indicate the limitations of technology when it comes to AI driven remote monitoring and use it as a tool and not as a total replacement for patient care.
