Leadership is not defined by a box on an organizational chart. Leadership can occur anywhere within an office and organization, and is fulfilled through humility, service, vision, inspiration, and action. It requires one to set an example and inspire others to follow. Leaders must be focused on helping their teammates succeed individually and collectively. It requires consistency and integrity to achieve your goals through alignment, clear vision, and pathway to achieving goals set and shared by all. No business or practice can ever become great without true leadership. Orthodontic offices and their leaders consciously or unconsciously make a decision of what's most important through the lens of one of three focus areas: patients, doctors, or teams. It is this decision that determines who the practice will ultimately serve, which has a profound impact on the success of the business and the practice.
