This session will describe what is known about the genetic and orthodontic treatment-related factors that are associated with the development of External Apical Root Resorption (EARR). Utilizing a hybrid-presentation style, the speaker will (a) assess the audiences' knowledge on the topic, (b) summarize the literature in the field, (c) share recent research findings from her laboratory, (d) discuss the limitations associated with many EARR study designs, and (e) describe potential clinical tools that could be available the future for predicting risk EARR occurrence.
